Do you want to offer online brain training activities to your patients/clients/customers? We work with medical professionals, foundations, academic institutions, and government agencies to customize our unique immersive interactive environment to achieve each organization’s goals.
Joshua Berrett, PhD, is Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Ageless Mind Project. He is an Emeritus Professor of Music, a musicologist who has published on a wide variety of musical topics over fifty years.
He has used music to engage very young children, sensitize college students, and challenge the minds of adults learners. He has developed an interactive workshop called “Music is Brain Food,” where he demonstrates how music can be employed consciously and intentionally to keep people healthy and happy. He offers courses on a broad range of music and musicians in lifelong learning programs and privately online. He is on the LEARN Committee of the American Society on Aging.
Lynne Molella Berrett, MA, MSW, is Co-Founder and Secretary of the Ageless Mind Project. She earned degrees in Literature and Clinical Social Work and a post-graduate certificate in Gestalt Therapy.
She worked for many years with at-risk college students while also maintaining a private psychotherapy practice for couples and adults, many of them artistic and/or older clients. Over a dozen years ago she added training in positive psychology coaching to her skills. Her training in adult learning and older adult development first began in the mid-1970’s at the University of Michigan.
Since 2013 she has been offering research-based holistic brain health programs online in virtual worlds such as Second Life and Open Sim. These are immersive learning environments that she has made user-friendly for older people. She has recently designed a course for professionals in the field of aging that gives them the technical tools to guide their clients into Second Life and the psychological tools to help clients learn how to improve their own well-being by spending time there.
Working as a team, the Berretts created the website Music and Happiness in 2007, exploring the relationship between music and positive psychology. They have given presentations on music as brain food and on their project in Second Life at numerous conferences on aging over the past several years.
